Aamir Khan, the celebrated Bollywood actor, is set to be the chief guest at the 16th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) this August. The festival, a prominent platform showcasing Indian cinema on a global scale, will dedicate this year's edition to celebrating Aamir Khan's remarkable contributions to the film industry.
Scheduled from August 14th to 24th, 2025, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne promises a dynamic program filled with film screenings, insightful panel discussions, engaging masterclasses, and captivating cultural events. The festival will unite filmmakers, actors, and enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate the allure of Indian cinema.
Expressing his gratitude for the invitation, Aamir Khan told IANS, "I'm humbled and thrilled to be a part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It's a festival that truly celebrates the spirit of Indian cinema in all its diversity and richness. I look forward to engaging with audiences, sharing some of my most cherished work, and being part of conversations that celebrate the power of film.”

From timeless classics to thought-provoking dramas, the festival will revisit pivotal moments that have defined his illustrious career.

As part of the festival's program, Aamir Khan's latest film, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ will also be screened. The film has garnered praise for its sensitive portrayal of inclusivity and neurodiversity.
