The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) is poised to launch its own T20 league in the 2025-26 season, joining a growing number of state associations embracing the format.
Anil Patel, Secretary of the GCA, has confirmed the decision to Cricbuzz. While the launch is confirmed, the association is still working to identify a suitable window in the cricketing calendar for the tournament. Details such as the number of participating teams are yet to be finalized.
These domestic T20 leagues across India have become vital scouting grounds for IPL franchises. Leagues in Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra, and Saurashtra provide platforms for local talent to shine, offering a pathway to higher levels of competition. Many of these leagues are scheduled in June and July, after the conclusion of the IPL season in May.
