Abhishek Bachchan, currently enjoying acclaim for his latest release, 'Kaalidhar Laapata', has revealed the reasons behind his decision to scale back his activity on social media platforms. The actor, who recently celebrated 25 years in the Hindi film industry, shared his insights in an interview with ETimes.
Bachchan stated that he now primarily uses social media to post professional updates related to his film projects. When asked about his limited self-expression online, he explained, "Publicly, yes. I don't express much off-screen. I express on screen... I'm interested in what they're doing on screen. Don't shatter that illusion for me."
He further elaborated on his evolving perspective on social media:
"Partially yes, and also I feel currently, sadly... I just feel a lot of social media is just about baiting. It's not a place where you can have a healthy discussion... I use it more professionally now."
This statement highlights Bachchan's belief that social media has, unfortunately, devolved from a platform for constructive debate into one driven by provocation and negativity. He contrasts this with the early days of social media, when healthy discourse was more common.
Abhishek Bachchan is currently filming for 'King'. His father, Amitabh Bachchan, confirmed the project's commencement on social media. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and reportedly, Deepika Padukone.
