From the moment Jasprit Bumrah entered the Edgbaston Cricket Ground nets, his focus was unmistakable. After a short walk, he immediately grabbed a ball and began his routine, signifying his readiness.

He started with gentle deliveries, gradually increasing his pace. Soon, the measuring tape came out to mark his run-up for an aggressive 20-minute spell. With several key players absent, Bumrah bowled to Sai Sudharsan, Ravindra Jadeja, and Karun Nair.
He challenged the batters with accuracy and varied his angles, using the width of the crease for right-handers and bowling around the wicket for left-handers. His mental freshness was evident, likely aided by the three-day break from bowling. He bowled alongside Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna.
The trio, who played in the Headingley Test, trained purposefully on the second day after minimal activity on the first day in Birmingham. They each bowled for about thirty minutes before practicing their batting.
Siraj focused on leaves, ducks, and forward defense with batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, while Bumrah sampled various aspects of training, from side-armers to slow bowlers. He engaged in shadow practice while waiting to bat and gained confidence throughout the session.
Business as usual continued in the other nets, with Ravindra Jadeja batting, Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep impressing, and Kuldeep Yadav focusing on both batting and bowling. While Akash or Arshdeep's inclusion depends on Bumrah's availability, Kuldeep is preparing thoroughly.
The left-arm wrist-spinner sought feedback from the support staff and teammates, experimenting with angles and lengths. The dry Birmingham weather might favor his inclusion in the second Test.

His bowling rhythm is evident, dating back to pre-match sessions in Leeds. He had a competitive session with Gill before the first Test and continues to enjoy facing Indian batters in Birmingham.
Kuldeep Yadav has dedicated hours to improving his batting under Gautam Gambhir and Sitanshu Kotak. Over the past 18 months, he has worked hard to contribute meaningfully with the bat.
After two days of training, the team will take a break before regrouping on June 30. The bowlers will rest, while bowling coach Morne Morkel may resume his playful wrestling with Arshdeep and Akash Deep. As for Bumrah, his participation remains a suspenseful question for the next 48 hours.
