MI New York had earlier set a formidable target, posting 237/4, largely thanks to a blistering, unbeaten century from captain Nicholas Pooran. Pooran smashed 108 off just 60 balls, supported by Tajinder Dhillon's explosive 95 off 35 deliveries.

Despite the onslaught, the Seattle Orcas bowlers, including Gerald Coetzee and Kyle Mayers, managed to grab some wickets to slow the scoring.

Seattle's chase began shakily, losing early wickets in the powerplay. However, Kyle Mayers (37 off 20) and captain Sikandar Raza (30 off 9) launched a counter-attack, injecting momentum into the innings. Heinrich Klaasen also contributed a quickfire 26 off 13 before falling to Rushil Ugarkar.

Then came Hetmyer's explosive innings. With the required run rate escalating, he took charge, smashing an unbeaten 97 off a mere 40 balls, including 5 fours and 9 sixes, at a remarkable strike rate of 242.50.

The tension reached its peak on the final ball, with five runs needed for victory. Hetmyer faced Kieron Pollard, maneuvered inside the line of the delivery, and flicked it over fine leg for a six, sealing a memorable victory for the Seattle Orcas.

"This one is one of the best, because our backs were against the wall," said Hetmyer, who was named Player of the Match. "Today is one of those days, where I went with a clear mind and wanted to take the game as deep as possible."
